KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Drew University men's basketball squad has been recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for its performance in the classroom this past season at both the team and individual levels.

As a team, the Rangers earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes all NCAA Division I, II, and III, and NAIA Divisions I and II schools that maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better. More than 400 colleges and universities were honored.

The Rangers maintained a team GPA of 3.2 throughout the 2025-26 season.

Individually, seven members of the team – graduate student Jack Garside; senior Kevin Cronin; and juniors Andre De Los Reyes, Connor Jepson, Taylor Perlmutter, Charlie Thornton, and Eli Yusavage – earned a spot on the NABC Honors Court.

In order to be named to the NABC Honors Court, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically, a member of the varsity team, hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, have matriculated at least one year at their current institution, and be a member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I institution with an NABC member coach. Over 2,300 players earned spots on the 2025-26 NABC Honors Court.

The Rangers are coming off another outstanding season in 2025-26. The Blue and Green finished with a 19-7 record and a 13-5 mark in the Landmark Conference, good for a second-place finish in the conference standings and the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Championships. It was the third year in a row that the Rangers finished among the top-two in the conference.
