2/25/2026 11:26:00 AM

MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's basketball team will open postseason play at home once again when the Rangers take on Susquehanna University in the semifinals of the Landmark Conference Championship tournament on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Baldwin Gym.

The Rangers (16-9, 13-5 LC) are coming off a regular season in which they finished second in the Landmark Conference standings, earning the No. 2 seed in the conference championship. By virtue of their top-two finish, they were awarded a first-round bye for the third year in a row.

Drew is making its eighth appearance in the Landmark Conference Championships over the last nine years. The Rangers are also playing their postseason opener at home for the seventh straight time.

Susquehanna (14-12, 9-9 LC) finished sixth in the conference standings to earn the No. 6 seed in the Landmark playoffs. The River Hawks upset No. 3-seeded University of Scranton 85-78 in the first round on Tuesday to move into the semifinals.

The winner of the game will advance to Saturday's Landmark Conference championship game, which will be held at the highest remaining seed. Top-seeded Catholic University and No. 4 Wilkes University will meet in the other semifinal. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championships.

Drew and Susquehanna will be facing off in the Landmark Conference semifinals for the third year in a row. The Rangers downed the River Hawks 97-81 last season en route to winning the Landmark Conference title while Susquehanna won 68-66 in 2024.

 Tickets may be purchased here.

The Rangers swept their season series with the River Hawks this year, winning 97-88 in Madison back on Jan. 17 and 92-84 in Selinsgrove this past Saturday.

Drew is making its 10th appearance in the Landmark Conference Championship tournament. Along with their title last season, the Rangers also captured the 2021 Landmark Conference crown and reached the final in 2022 and 2019.

Under first-year Head Coach Ryan Van Zelst, the Rangers have made their mark as a prolific offensive team and rank 17th in Division III in scoring (88.6 ppg) and 12th in 3-pointers made per game (11.0). In addition, the squad is 15th nationally in free throws made per game (18.2) and 27th in assists per game (17.2).
