Medley Record Falls as Rangers Split

MADISON, N.J. (January 21, 2001) - In the very first event of the evening the Drew women broke a 10-year-old school record in the 200 Medley Relay. Drew would go on to split the Landmark tri-meet, defeating Juniata, 79-28 while falling short to Susquehanna, 74-47.
Jess Harrington (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield), Jasmine Prokscha (Washington, Conn./Kent), Kati Eggert (Denville, N.J./Morris Knolls) and
Alexa Morrissey (Brooklyn, N.Y./Fontbonne Hall Academy) entered their names into the Drew Swimming record books after turning in a time of 1:57.76 in the 200 Medley. They eclipse a mark set back in 2001, conincedently the last time the women got to the seven win plateau.
Eggert, the reigning Landmark Swimmer of the Week, took home wins in both the 50 and 100 Free. Her 50 time of 25.94 is her fastest this season and the third fastest in the Landmark Conference this season. Eggert has not lost her last seven individual races.
Schwinger cruised to her second-straight victory in the 500 Free with a time of 5:35.21, almost seven seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. Earlier in the meet Schwinger touched first in the 200 Free, turning in a time of 2:03. The time is the third fastest among Landmark swimmers this season.
The meet marked the first time that twin sisters Jess and Rebecca Harrington swam against each other
in a collegiate meet. Swimming different strokes, both sisters were able to score for their respective teams in the meet.
The Rangers will host King's College tomorrow afternoon when the Rangers honor their seniors. The dual-meeet is scheduled for 1:00 PM in the F.M. Kirby Pool.
