MADISON, N.J. (May 30, 2013) – Senior Cross Country runner
Jennifer Van Wingerden (Augusta, N.J./High Point Regional) was listed on The 2013 Capital One Academic All-District® Cross Country and Track & Field Team this afternoon.
The honor adds yet another prestigious award to her collection after record breaking senior year. She was named the Vince Masco Career Athlete of the Year and the women's cross country team MVP at the Athletic Department Awards Ceremony earlier in the month.
She graduates as the school's record holder in the 4K and the 6K. In her senior season she won both the Landmark Conference Championship and the ECAC Championship, earning her First Team All-Conference Honors. She became the first Drew runner, male or female, to qualify for NCAA National Championships after placing 11
th and shattering her own school record in the 6K by 21 seconds.
Van Wingerden is now eligible for the All-America honors which will be revealed on June 25
th.
