Senior goalkeeper
Michael Reyes was named the Defensive MVP after posting 200 minutes worth of clean sheets during the 2014 Fall Festival. After making six saves in the 1-0 win over SUNY Geneseo on Friday night, Reyes followed up with three more in Saturday's scoreless draw.
"I couldn't do it by myself," Reyes said. "I have an incredible defense in front of me. I was able to come up with big saves, but I'm supposed to do that. The coaches got me ready to do that. I'm always happy when the defense comes up big in the end."
Senior midfielder
John Nogiewich was named the Offensive MVP thanks to scoring the Rangers' lone goal of the weekend.
Drew outshot the Cougars 22-8 in the Fall Fest finale, but could not push one across the line. Sophomore midfielder

Drew wins its first Fall Fest title since 2011. Drew's senior goalkeeper knows the importance of momentum and gaining it while hosting a season opening tournament.
"The team feels great, especially having a shutout for the whole tournament is big," Reyes said. "It gets our team going on the right foot and it can help us reach our major goal, which is to improve on the last couple of seasons."
As the sun set over Ranger Stadium, the starting whistle sounded and immediately the Rangers' attacked. Within the first three minutes the Blue & Green ripped two shots off. Inside the fifth minute, after a foul just outside of the Kean defensive box, Pezzuti fired a shot that clanged against the crossbar and ricocheted straight into the center of the box. A Cougar defender was able to get his foot on the ball and clear it.
Kean made a counter attack in the ninth minute of the game. With a ball sent just beyond the defensive line, Kean forward Pablo Valle sprinted onto the ball and blasted a shot just yards away from the goal mouth. Reyes didn't miss a beat from Friday's outing as he hoisted his body toward the ball to make an acrobatic save, giving his defense time to recover. As the ball bounced around within the Rangers' defensive box, a Cougar's boot connected with the ball, but this time Reyes wasn't there for the save. Sophomore defender
Ian Pavlak was there to deflect the shot away and preserve the clean sheet.
For the next 15 minutes, both teams were counter attacking, and each time the defenses stepped up and protected their goals and goalkeepers. But in the 24
th minute, Kean blasted a shot towards the top right, and with flawless agility, Reyes was there to make a diving save, which quickly quieted the rowdy Cougars.
With a scoreless first half, Drew led the Cougars in shots 13-5. The Rangers also led with five corners.
As the second half commenced, Kean quickly applied pressure and was able to get the first shot of the half.. Drew and Kean perpetuated the back and forth possession exchanges throughout the second period.
In the 86
th minute, Pezzuti fired a shot outside the box and the Kean goalie tipped it over the crossbar foiling another strong Ranger opportunity.
The in the 88
th Hammer hits to the outside for a cross by
Joe Sollod into the box back to Hammer, and Hammer was able to get a head on it, but didn't have enough on the shot as the goalie collected another impressive save. That would be the last close opportunity for the Rangers to get on the scoreboard. With tenacious play by the goalies the game went into overtime.
Two minutes into overtime, freshman midfielder
Lu Goncalves was taken down and set up Drew for another opportunity for a chance to score. With a lot of power behind the shot, a Cougar defender was able to deflect it away and give the Rangers another corner kick. But once again the Cougars thwarted the attempt and time ran out forcing a second overtime.
Within the first two minutes of the second OT, the Rangers looked to produce the first score of the game off a header from Nogiewich, but Kean's Nick Pavlichko (five saves) denied Drew of its goal.
In the 108
th minute of the contest, a scrappy Cougar attacker danced with the ball inside the Rangers defensive end. With the physicality ascending, Reyes was able to snag a cross out of the air to calm down and regain the pace of the game.
