WILKES-BARRE, Pa. –
The Drew University swimming & diving team's dual meet at King's on Saturday afternoon came down to the final relay for both the men and women.  The Ranger women won that final relay to earn a 106-96 victory, when the Drew men fell to the Monarchs by a 106-96 score at Scandlon Pool.

Drew's quartet of Jamie Riffel (New Providence, N.J.), Jennifer Cortez (Belleville, N.J.), Mal Vishwanath (Bangalore, India) and Katie Jefferson (Kamuela, Hawaii) posted a time of 1:44.93 in the 200 yard freestyle relay to win the event by nearly five seconds and clinch the victory for Drew.  Vishwanath also broke the pool record in the 1000 yard freestyle (10:45.56) and took first in the 100 yard butterfly (1:01.13).  Riffel, meanwhile, was first in the individual 200 yard freestyle (2:07.13) to go along with a second-place showing in the 100 yard backstroke (1:04.86).

Stephanie Cushman (Brick, N.J.) was the winner of the 100 backstroke, putting up a time of 1:01.65.  She also grabbed second place in the 200 yard individual medley (2:24.86).  Jenny Stein (Calabasas, Calif.) won both sprint freestyle events, notching a time of 26.02 seconds in the 50 and 55.96 seconds in the 100.  Eve Morel (Bourgogne, France) took second behind Stein in the 50 freestyle (26.67) and added another second-place showing in the 100 butterfly (1:03.91).

On the men's side, Drew got a pair of first-place finishes from both Alexandre Sannibale (South Pasadena, Calif.) and Michael Ma (Redwood City, Calif.).  Sannibale took first in the 200 freestyle (1:51.63) and 500 yard freestyle (5:04.32), while Ma won the 100 butterfly (55.28) and 200 individual medley (2:01.38).  He was also a part of the victorious 200 yard medley relay squad, joining Matheus Macena (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Ryan Underwood (Etters, Pa.) and Jack Mahoney (Erie, Pa.).

Individually, Macena placed first in the 100 backstroke (57.22), while Underwood took second behind Ma in the 100 butterfly (55.82).  Mahoney earned a pair of second-place showings in the 50 freestyle (22.31) and 100 freestyle (49.11).  Mack Fox (Randolph, N.J.), meanwhile, grabbed second place in the 200 freestyle (1:53.51), and Garrett Pilkington (West Milford, N.J.) finished second in the 1000 freestyle (10:42.99).
