MADISON, N.J. (Feb. 12, 2017) – The Drew University men's fencing team posted a 2-3 record against tough competition at the MACFA Groups A vs. C meet on Sunday in the Simon Forum & Athletic Center.
By the Numbers
The Rangers move their overall record to 17-18 with an 8-4 mark in the Simon Forum. Drew defeated William & Mary (19-8) and Maryland (15-12), but lost to Navy (16-11), Johns Hopkins (21-6) and Haverford (20-7).
Top Performers
• Sophomore
Andrew Pidhorodeckyj was again the wins leader for Drew with a 13-2 run at epee on Sunday. The second-year captain improves his season record to 67-15.
• The sabre squad stood out on Sunday with 26-19 record, led by freshman
Zack Benicewicz's 11-4 record and sophomore
Brian Heist's 10-5 mark.
• Freshman
Josh Ryan paced the foil group with six wins.
