GERMANTOWN, Md. –
The Drew University women's swimming & diving team earned a pair of conference titles on day two of the Landmark Conference Championships at the Germantown Swim Center on Saturday.  Mal Vishwanath (Bangalore, India) broke her second meet record in as many days in the 200 yard freestyle, while Jenny Stein (Calabasas, Calif.) defended her Landmark title in 1-meter diving.  Overall, the Rangers were in fourth place on both the men's and women's sides entering the final day of competition.

Vishwanath posted a time of 1:52.44 in the 200 freestyle for the fifth individual conference championship of her career.  Meanwhile, Stein, who took silver on the 3-meter board, won the 1-meter diving competition for the second straight year after compiling 394.90 points.  She also swam the leadoff leg on the Rangers' 200 yard medley relay squad that placed fourth in 1:52.36.  Joining Stein in the medley relay were Stephanie Cushman (Brick, N.J.), Katie Jefferson (Kamuela, Hawaii) and Eve Morel (Bourgogne, France).

Individually, Cushman posted a time of 58.47 seconds in the 100 yard backstroke, which was good for her second silver medal of the meet.  Jefferson and Morel both reached the "A" final in the 100 yard butterfly, with Jefferson placing fourth in 59.89 seconds and Moreal taking eighth with a 1:02.42 clocking.  Jamie Riffel (New Providence, N.J.) won the "B" final in the 200 freestyle, finishing ninth overall in 1:59.87, while Megan Cashin (Franklin, Mass.) was 11th (5:05.61) in the 400 yard individual medley.  In addition, Drew was clocked in 8:06.37 to grab second place in the 800 yard freestyle relay.

On the men's side, the Rangers had 12 individual finalists on Saturday.  Angelo Angione (Hoboken, N.J.) had Drew's highest finish, capturing fourth place in 3-meter diving with 298.30 points.  Michael Ma (Redwood City, Calif.) and Matheus Macena (Sao Paulo, Brazil) each made the "A" final in the same two events.  In the 100 yard butterfly, Ma was third (51.64) and Macena was fifth (51.91), while Macena placed fifth (53.39) and Ma sixth (53.57) in the 100 backstroke.  They also joined with Ryan Underwood (Etters, Pa.) and Jack Mahoney (Erie, Pa.) on the 200 medley relay squad that finished third in 1:35.16.

Mahoney added a fifth-place showing in the 200 freestyle (1:44.30), as Drew had three finalists in the event.  Mack Fox (Randolph, N.J.) finished eighth in 1:49.43, while Alexandre Sannibale (South Pasadena, Calif.) won the "B" final with a 1:48.37 clocking.  Underwood, meanwhile, took 12th in the 100 butterfly after notching a time of 53.23 seconds.
