BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Junior
Virginia Gaylord placed 34th among 78 runners to lead the Drew University cross country teams at the Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday at Bicentennial Park.
Gaylord clocked a time of 26 minutes, 17 seconds for the 6,000-meter course for the Rangers, who placed seventh in the team standings with a score of 198.
Taking second for the Rangers was junior
Carly Orent, who crossed the finish line in 43rd place in 27:03. Junior
Aubrey Johnson was 55th in 28:00 while classmates
Samantha Villanueva (66th, 29:30) and
Charlotte Principal (67th, 29:31) rounded out the team scoring.
Also running for the women's team were junior
Tabitha Lopes (71st, 30:46) and senior
Marissa Berrios (75th, 31:40).
Susquehanna University captured the team title by one point over Moravian University.
On the men's side, one Ranger was in action, as junior
Matthew Ortiz placed 94th in 46:59.
Drew closes out its season on Nov. 13 at the NCAA Division III Metro Region Championships at Gloucester County Dream Park in Glassboro, N.J.
