NORTHAMPTON, Pa. - Freshmen
Shawn Corcoran and
Evan Pratts finished 15 seconds apart, leading the Drew University men's cross country team at the Moravian Invitational on Friday at Bicentennial Park.
The meet serves as a preview for the Landmark Conference Championships, which will be held on the same course on Oct. 30.
Corcoran placed 78 among 94 runners, traversing the 6,000-meter course in 23 minutes, 19 seconds. Pratts was close behind, taking 80th in 23:34.
Three Rangers made their collegiate debuts, as junior
Matthew Ortiz (29:47), freshman
Nathan Koramblyum (36:24) and freshman
Golden Ge (37:24) rounded out the team scoring.
Drew finished seventh in the team standings.
The Rangers take eight days off from competition before returning to the course on Oct. 2 at the NJIT Highlander Invitational at Branch Brook Park in Newark, N.J.
