All-Landmark Conference Field Hockey Team
TOWSON, Md. – Seniors
Lauren Cagliostro and
Tyler Olivio have each captured a spot on the All-Landmark Conference Field Hockey Team, it was announced on Tuesday.
Â
Both Cagliostro, a defender, and Olivio, a forward, captured second-team status. It was the first career all-conference honor for both players.
Â
The two Rangers helped lead Drew to its top season in over a decade this past fall. The squad posted a 10-9 overall record, marking the team's highest victory and first winning season since 2013. In addition, the Rangers went 4-5 in Landmark Conference play to finish sixth in the conference standings, good for the program's first Landmark Conference playoff berth since 2013.
Â
Cagliostro made her mark as a tremendous two-way player for the Rangers this past season. On the offensive end, she piled up 21 points on nine goals and three assists while connecting on all three of her penalty strokes. She scored in eight different games and provided one of the team's most dramatic moments of the year when she buried an overtime game-winner in Drew's 2-1 season-opening victory at FDU-Florham. She scored in eight total games for the season, including a 5-4 win over Eastern in which she found of the back of the cage twice.
Â
Cagliostro also led the Rangers with four defensive saves for the season, including two in one game at Catholic.
Â
Olivio led the offense as Drew's leading scorer this past season, posting team-highs in both goals (12) and points (25). Her 12 goals were the most by a Ranger since Madi Sheetz C'18 also scored 12 in 2015, and her 25 points marked the highest output by a Drew player since Michelle Fallon C'16 recorded 29 in 2015.
Â
Olivio scored a goal in nine different games on the season, highlighted by a three-goal performance in a 4-1 win at Cedar Crest that marked her second career hat trick. She also scored twice in a 4-3 Landmark Conference victory at Lycoming, and she tallied the game-winning goal with 2:05 left in a 3-2 conference win over Goucher. In addition, she notched one goal and one assist in a 5-0 win over Manhattanville.
Â
Among the Landmark Conference leaders, Olivio is currently third in goals per game (0.63) and eighth in points per game (1.32). In addition, she leads the conference with six game-winning goals.
