MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's swimming & diving team won all 13 events and the Rangers captured their home opener with a 166-37 victory over Landmark Conference rival Susquehanna University on Saturday in F.M. Kirby Pool.
A trio of Rangers captured two individual events apiece to lead the way as Drew (1-2) earned its first dual-meet victory of the season. Junior
Brendan Burkett touched first in both the 100-freestyle (47.57) and the 200-freestyle (1:47.18) while sophomore
Liam Gregory prevailed in the 500-freestyle (4:52.15) and the 1,000-freestyle (10:04.68). In addition, sophomore
Santiago Rubio Marrodan earned victories in both the 1-meter diving (176.15) and the 3-meter diving (161.80).
Winning one individual event each were freshman
Thiago Silva (50-freestyle, 21.76), sophomore
Nicholas Heinio-Widell (200-IM, 1:57.07), sophomore
Kyle Talerico (200-butterfly, 1:56.25), junior
Ricky Kilichowski (200-backstroke, 2:02.93), and freshman
Hunor Harsanyi (200-breaststroke, 2:12.19).
In relay action, senior
Yan Zheng Lew, Heinio-Widell, Talerico, and Burkett won in 1:35.69 while the 200-freestyle squad of Heinio-Widell, freshman
Issac Jeffers, freshman
Will Spreeman, and Gregory clocked a winning time of 1:29.50.
The Rangers continue their season Dec. 6-7 with the Ranger Invitational.
