CSC Academic All-District Men's Soccer Teams
MADISON, N.J. – Four members of the Drew University men's soccer team have been recognized for their performance on the field and in the classroom with their selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.

James Cahill and senior midfielder
Thomas Zurkowski earned their second CSC Academic All-District awards while fifth-year goalie
David Hoyt and junior midfielder
Gabe Di Pierro were recognized for the first time.
Additionally, Hoyt was chosen as a CSC Academic All-America finalist and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Dec. 10.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or significant reserve who has appeared in at least 90 percent of the team's games or started 66 percent of the team's contests.
A Biochemistry & Molecular Biology major and a Public Health and Anthropology minor, Hoyt started 18 of 19 games between the pipes this season, posting a 1.03 goals-against average and a .743 save percentage to go with four shutouts. He made a season-high seven saves in a 0-0 tie at Goucher as well as a 2-1 victory over Manhattanville. He authored additional clean sheets in a 1-0 win over Western Connecticut, a 5-0 victory at TCNJ, and 1-0 triumph at DeSales.
Cahill, a Finance major, started all 19 games this past season. He scored three goals to finish third among the Rangers and found the back of the net in back-to-back games early in the season versus Vassar and NYU. He also scored in a 2-1 Landmark Conference victory at Wilkes. Cahill was an All-Landmark Conference Honorable Mention selection in 2023, when he posted five goals and two assists.
Zurkowski, an Economics major, played in 18 games and made three starts this past season. He netted a pair of assists and set up the game-winning goal the victory at Wilkes. He also provided a helper in Drew's 2-0 win at Immaculata. Zurkowski recorded his top offensive season in 2022 with seven points on two goals and three assists.
A Computer Science major and Business minor, Di Pierro played in all 19 games and made 14 starts this past season. He registered three goals and two assists during each of his first two years at The Forest.
