STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Taking on a field composed primarily of Division I competition, the Drew University men's indoor track & field team turned in several strong performances at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout on Friday at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
 
Sophomore Adian Hanson came in 19th out of some 117 athletes in the 60-meter dash. He placed first among Division III competitors.
 
Sophomore Zach Mogambi came in sixth in a field of 63 competitors in the shot put. On his sixth and final attempt, he recorded a launch of 14.26 meters (46-9 1/2). He was the top Division III finisher as well. Mogambi also placed 14th among 55 athletes in the weight throw with a toss of 13.85 meters (45-5).
 
Also in the shot put, sophomore Carl Adolphe placed 29th with a heave of 11.36 meters (37-3 1/4) while senior Mike Borrelli came in 35th with a mark of 11.04 meters (36-2 3/4).
 
Sophomore Thomas Edwards added a 23rd-place finish in a field 43 in the 3,000-meter run. He was timed at 9:27.29.
 
The Rangers are off for the remainder of the calendar year. The squad picks up its schedule on Friday, Jan. 17 at the Ramapo College Season Opener at The Armory in New York City.
