PHILADELPHIA and CHESTER, Pa. – Sophomore
Adian Hanson lowered his own program record in one event and tied another to lead the Drew University men's track & field team at the Widener University Indoor Classic this past weekend.
Throwing events were held at Widener on Friday while the rest of the meet took place at the University of Pennsylvania's Ott Center.
Hanson placed sixth out of 49 competitors in the 200-meter dash. He placed third among Division III athletes and bettered his own school record with a time of 22.14 seconds. He also placed 15th in a field of 37 in the 60-meter dash, tying his own Drew standard of 7.07 seconds.
In other top performances, freshman
Owen Browne placed 14th in a field of 29 in the pole vault, clearing 4.25 meters (13-11 1/4). In addition, sophomore
Zach Mogambi placed 13th among 46 competitors in the weight throw with a toss of 13.97 meters (45-10) and was 18th in a field of 43 in the shot put with a mark of 13.42 meters (44- 1/2).
The Rangers continue their season with the Landmark Conference Championships on Saturday, March 1 at Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Md.
