MADISON, N.J. – For the second time this season, sophomore faceoff specialist Jake Rainero has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week.

Rainero, who was also named the Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week for the third time this year, won 84.0% (42-for-50) of his faceoffs while posting 28 ground balls, two goals, and one assist in a 2-0 week for the Rangers. He went 21-for-25 with 13 ground balls, one goal, and one assist in a 15-7 Landmark Conference victory over Moravian University, then finished 21-for-25 again with 15 GBs and one goal in a 13-11 conference victory at Goucher. In addition, he broke the team record for ground balls in a season, a mark that currently stands at 169.

On the year, Rainero has converted 73.8% (259-for-351) of his trips to the X, a mark that leads the Landmark Conference and ranks third in all of Division III. In addition to his school record for ground balls in a season, he has also established Landmark Conference record for both faceoffs won (145) and ground balls (102) in conference play.

The Rangers (9-6, 5-3 LC), who have won their last three games and have clinched a spot in the Landmark Conference Championship tournament, conclude the regular season on Saturday, when they visit Juniata College at 1 p.m. in a Landmark Conference game.
