4/28/2025 7:17:00 PM

MADISON, N.J. – Both the Drew University men's lacrosse and men's tennis teams will host a first-round matchup in the Landmark Conference Championships on Tuesday.

Both teams earned the No. 3 seed in their respective tournaments. The lacrosse team (10-6, 6-3 LC) will host No. 6 Susquehanna University (12-5, 5-4 LC) at 7 p.m. while the tennis team (10-8, 7-2 LC) will welcome No. 6 Juniata College (5-6, 4-5 LC) at 4 p.m.

With a victory, the men's lacrosse team would advance to the semifinals and visit No. 2 Elizabethtown on Thursday. The winner of the other first-round game between No. 4 Catholic and No. 5 Moravian will take on No. 1 Scranton in the other semifinal, and the semifinal winners will meet in the final on Saturday at the highest remaining seed.

Under fourth-year Head Coach Dan Leidl C'97, the Rangers are making their second consecutive appearance in the Landmark Conference Championships and their ninth in team history. Tuesday's game will mark Drew's first home postseason game since a 15-9 win over Scranton in the 2012 Landmark Conference semifinals. In addition, the Rangers' matchup versus Susquehanna will mark the team's first back-to-back appearance in a conference tournament since reaching the Middle Atlantic Conference or Landmark Conference postseason six years in a row from 2005-10

Drew is looking to avenge a 10-7 loss to Susquehanna back on March 22 in Ranger Stadium. The two sides will be meeting in the postseason for the second time, as the River Hawks captured a 9-4 decision in the 2014 Landmark Conference semifinals in Selinsgrove.

Tickets for Tuesday's game are available here.

The men's tennis team is making its fifth consecutive Landmark Conference postseason appearance and its 11th in team history. The winner of Tuesday's match will visit No. 2-seeded Catholic in the Thursday's semifinals while the winner of the other first-round match between No. 4 Moravian and No. 5 Susquehanna will take on No. 1 Goucher in the other semifinal. The championship final will be held on Saturday at the Central PA Tennis Center in South Williamsport, Pa.

Under first-year Head Coach Geoffrey Diehl C'21, the Rangers defeated Juniata 5-2 when the two sides met in Huntingdon back on April 13.

Drew, which is 19-3 all-time in the Landmark Conference Championships, is seeking its ninth Landmark crown. The Rangers have reached the final in each of the last four years, claiming titles in 2023 and 2021, and also captured the first six Landmark trophies from 2008-13.

The match will be stopped once a team winner (four points won) has been determined.

The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championships.
