COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Drew University men's track & field team continued its outdoor season at the Ursinus College Track & Field Festival on Friday and Saturday.
 
Team scoring was not kept at the large and competitive meet, which included well over 50 competitors in numerous events.
 
Sophomore Zach Mogambi turned in Drew's top finishes with a pair of top-eight performances. He placed eighth in a field of 48 and was the second Division III finisher in the discus with a toss of 42.97 meters (141-0), and he also took eighth out of 47 throwers in the shot put with a heave of 13.85 meters (45-2 1/4).
 
Sophomore Thomas Edwards also placed in the top half of his field, placing 20th in a field of 65 in the 1,500-meter run. He was timed at 4:12.82, improving upon his own school record in the event.
 
Edwards also came in 25th among 66 runners in the 800, clocking a time of 2:05.49, while freshman Matt Ellis took 32nd in the 1,500 (4:21.59).
 
The Rangers continue their season next Saturday at the Rowan University Invitational.
