CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Emily Camlet and sophomore Zach Mogambi each competed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Final Qualifier on Thursday.
 
Seeking to improve her national ranking in the 400-meter dash, Camlet came within 0.35 seconds of her season-best time of 55.61, which is also a Drew and Landmark Conference record. Competing in a field of 10, she placed fourth overall and third in her heat in 55.96 seconds. The reigning Landmark Conference champion in the event, Camlet is now ranked No. 30 in Division III in the 400 heading into Friday's NCAA Championship selections.
 
Mogambi was also looking to better his national ranking in his top event, the discus. He entered the meet with a top throw of 50.26 meters (164-11) but did not approach his lofty standard, which is also a Drew and Landmark Conference record. Mogambi, the reigning Landmark Conference discus champion, placed fifth in the field of 11 with a mark of 45.92 meters (150-8). He will enter Friday's NCAA selections ranked No. 29.
 
The NCAA will reveal its selections for the Division III Championships on NCAA.com by 8 p.m. EST on Friday.
