PHILADELPHIA and READING, Pa. – The Drew University men's indoor track & field team competed at a pair of meets on Saturday and Sunday.
On Sunday, Drew traveled to the University of Pennsylvania's Ott Center, where they competed in the Schuylkill Showcase, hosted by Widener University. Junior
Tommy Edwards led the way for the Rangers with an 11th-place finish among 42 competitors in the mile, setting a team record with a time of 4 minutes, 28.52 seconds. He sliced three seconds off the former mark set by Toby Gaynor C'25 in Drew's inaugural season of track & field two years ago.
In the same event, sophomore
Matt Ellis placed 21st in 4:35.06. Junior
Jeff Ayeh-Datey also finished in the top half of his event, taking 15th in a field 36 in the 200-meter dash (22.61).
On Saturday, the Rangers were in action at the Alvernia College FLEX Shootout. Junior
Zach Mogambi led the way, finishing 13th in a field of 46 in the weight throw (13.26m) and 16th out of 68 competitors in the shot put (12.43).
Drew continues its season next Sunday at the East Stroudsburg University DeScriver Invitational.
