MADISON, N.J. – The Drew University men's fencing team went 3-0 in a MACFA "A" round robin event in the Simon Forum.
The Rangers defeated Rutgers University (18-9), Lafayette College (16-11), and Cornell University (15-12).
Drew's epee squad led the way, finishing 3-0 while posting a 16-8 combined individual record. Senior
Eddie Matto finished 6-2 while classmate
Will Morton went 5-2. In addition, sophomore
Jackson Howard was 3-1.
Drew's foil team went 2-1 on the day, with senior
Henri Degremont leading the Rangers with a stellar 8-1 mark. Sophomore
Paul Greenleaf added a 6-3 record while classmate
Andrew Klyczek finished 3-0.
The sabre squad finished 1-2, with junior
Logan Kleva earning the most victories, finishing 4-5 on the day. Sophomores
Jason Ahlman and
Nicolas Machado each went 3-3.
Drew continues its season on Sunday, March 1, when it hosts the MACFA Championships.
