SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Drew University men's track & field team had three athletes earn a spot on the podium at the Landmark Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday at Susquehanna University.
Leading the way was junior
Zach Mogambi, who placed fifth in the shot put and seventh in the weight throw. He launched a throw of 13.86 meters (45-5 3/4) in the shot and 14.46 meters (47-5 1/4) in the weight.
Junior
Jeff Ayeh-Datey added a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, clocking a time of 22.74 seconds, while sophomore
Owen Browne came in eighth in the pole vault, clearing 3.75 meters (12-3 1/2).
Ayeh-Datey also came in 11th among 24 competitors in the 60-meter dash (7.18 seconds) while junior
Aidan Riccardo took 11th in a field of 23 in the 60-meter hurdles, lowering his own school record to 9.00 seconds.
In relay action, Drew's distance medley turned in the squad's top performance, as sophomore
Matt Ellis, freshman
Nathanrood Charles, senior
Dylan Crain, and junior
Tommy Edwards placed fourth with a time of 10:47.79.
As a team, Drew placed seventh out of eight schools.
Several Rangers will continue their season March 6-7 at the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Championships, held at the Armory in New York City.
