Five Rangers All-Landmark Hockey

Five Rangers were named to the All-Landmark Field Hockey teams as selected by the conference's coaches.  Nicole DiBattista, Elizabeth Law and Hannah Rau were all tabbed for the first team while Delia Barr and Kati Eggert each earned second team accolades.  Only Landmark Conference Champions Juniata had more players selected to the All-Landmark teams.

Nicole DiBattista earned her second First Team All-Landmark selection after another outstanding season in midfield for the Rangers.  The senior was the Landmark's top scoring midfielder and fifth overall with 30 points (1.67 per game).   She was tied for sixth in goals with 11 and third in assists with eight.  A true full-field player, DiBattista also ranked fifth in defensive saves with four.  She was the Rangers' best player in Landmark Conference games, leading the team and ranking in the LC's Top 10 in points, goals and assists.  The Newton, NJ native is the Landmark's All-Time leader in assists in conference play with nine.  In addition to her two First Team nods, DiBattista was a second team selection in '07 and she has been named to the NFHCA All-Region Second Team as well.

Elizabeth Law caps her stellar career with the Rangers by being named to the Landmark's First Team for the third time.  Since the creation of the Landmark three seasons ago, no field hockey player has scored more than Law's 38 goals in all games.  This season, Law ranked third in the Landmark in goals with 13 and in points with 35.  She tied for the Landmark lead in assists with nine, her career best.  She made her goals important ones as four were game winners.  She has been named Landmark Player of the Week four times as a Ranger.  For her career, Law ranks in the Top 10 for Drew All-Time in both points (99) and goals (40).

Sophomore defender Hannah Rau earned conference honors for the first time after emerging as a force on both ends of the field.  Rau record two goals and three assists, all in Landmark Conference play.  She also tied for fifth in the Landmark in defensive saves with four in all games and two in conference play to grab First Team recognition.

Senior Delia Barr was tabbed to the Second Team.  A two-time First Team honoree, this marks the third consecutive season that the defender has received All-Landmark accolades.  Barr started all 19 games this season and played in 68 games in her career at Drew while recording 10 defensive saves.

Kati Eggert was tabbed for the All-Landmark Second Team.  After moving from attack to midfield this season, the junior ranked fourth on the team in poits with 20 and second in assists with eight.  Those marks also placed her in the Landmark's Top Ten for both statistics.

LANDMARK ANNOUNCES FIELD HOCKEY ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

MADISON, N.J. – Twenty-four student-athletes have been recognized by the Landmark Conference as members of the 2009 All-Landmark Conference Field Hockey Team, as selected by the seven Landmark head field hockey coaches. The All-Landmark Team includes a first and second team with 12 honorees on each team, with the selections being made by position. The voting for the All-Conference Team took place after the conclusion of the regular season and prior to the start of the Landmark postseason.

Juniata College, which went unbeaten in conference play and claimed the Landmark Championship leads the way with six honorees, while Juniata and The Catholic University of America each placed four players on the first team. Juniata also took three of the four individual awards with junior Paula Price being selected as Offensive Player of the Year and sophomore Meghan McGlone earning Defensive Player of the Year honors after being voted the Rookie of the Year last season. Juniata Head Coach Caroline Gillich and her staff were recognized as the Coaching Staff of the Year. Susquehanna University freshman Ally Bradley earned the other award as she was voted the Landmark Rookie of the Year.
