Brown Named Co-Rookie of the Year

Drew University guard Terrell Brown and Susquehanna University guard Harvey Pannell have been named Landmark Conference 2009-2010 Co-Rookies of the Year for Men's Basketball. Brown finished his first season at Drew  9th in the conference with 310 points, averaging 12.4 a game.  Brown also ranked within the top five in field goal percentage (.516,) offensive rebounds (65,) and defensive rebounds (105.)  Brown led the Rangers in scoring 11 times and recorded four double-doubles.    He scored his season high 22 points on three separate occasions. 

Brown is the first Ranger to be recognized as a Landmark All-Conference Men's Basketball player since Chris Lopez earned a second team nod in 2008.  Brown transferred to Drew this fall after spend a year at Camden County College in Camden, NJ.  Brown, a native of Camden attended Woodrow Wilson High School.

LANDMARK ANNOUNCES MEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

MADISON, N.J. – A total of 12 student-athletes have been selected to the 2009-10 All-Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Team as selected by the conference's eight head coaches. The team consists of a first and second team, with six players on each team, and the selections made by position. The voting for the All-Conference Team took place after the conclusion of the regular season and prior to the start of the Landmark postseason.

Landmark Champions the United States Merchant Marine Academy claimed four spots on the team after finish atop the regular season standings and earning the postseason title USMMA Head Coach John Krikorian and his staff were also voted as the Coaching Staff of the Year. The remaining additional awards were split among four teams. The University of Scranton's Zach Ashworth earned Player of the Year honors while Susquehanna University's Bryan Majors was voted as the Defensive Player of the Year for the second-consecutive year. Two players tied in the voting for Rookie of the Year with Drew University's Terrell Brown and Harvey Pannell splitting the honor.

Seven of the 12 honorees earn All-Conference distinction for the second-consecutive year. Scranton's Ashworth and Catholic's Jason Banzhaf were honored as All-Conference choices for the third time, earning them the distinction of being on each Landmark All-Conference Men's Basketball Team. The junior class claimed the most representation with six selections, while four seniors were honored in their final year of collegiate play.
