Rangers Get to .500 Mark with Three Wins

Season Statistics

HAVERFORD, Pa. (November 19, 2011) – The women's fencing team evened their record this weekend to 3-3 on the season with a trio of wins at the Haverford Invitational. The Rangers outdueled Virginia, Maryland and William & Mary for their first three wins of the season.

In the closest match of the afternoon, Drew edged William and Mary 14-13 for the exciting one point victory. The Rangers defeated the University of Virginia 16-11 and then the University of Maryland 17-10. The Rangers fell short dropping bouts to Johns Hopkins, 25-2 and to Haverford, 20-7.

The Rangers were lead by saberist Emilia Domanowski  (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) who went 10-5 on the day. Foilists  Melissa Mascarenhas (Linden, N.J./Linden and Jeana Wunderlich (Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire) each had 10 wins afternoon while only dropping five each.

The Rangers will break for the year and return to the strip on January 21, 2012 when they travel to the University of Pennsylvania for the Philadelphia Invitational.
