MADISON, N.J. (April 19, 2011) - In their first meeting since the 2007 seaason, the Rangers were able to keep the Madison Cup on the Drew side of the street with a convincing, 13-4 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson (7-6). Freshman Mark Barus (Jacobstown, N.J./Notre Dame) had his first career hat trick along with an assist in the win.

Drew (8-4) owned both sides of the ball in the first half of play. Similar to what the offense did to Merchant Marine on Saturday, the Rangers scored the games first five goals with Barus netting the only two scores of the first period. Barus opened the second half of play with an assist on Eric Tripp's (Glen Cove, N.Y./Glen Cove) tenth goal of the year.

Steve Gentile (Franklin Lakes, N.J./Indian Hills) rounded off the first half scoring with two of his three goals on the day to help give the Rangers a 6-1 halftime advantage.

The Rangers began the second half identical to how they started the game, coming out of the break with five-straight scores.In the midst of the five-goal run was defender, Greg Hamilton's (Flemington, N.J/Hunterdon Central) first career goal. The senior long pole was the recipient of one of Tripp's three assists.

The Rangers went up 11-1 with 10:23 to play in the third quarter on Barus' third goal of the afternoon. The Rangers got a pair of second half goals from Nicholas Della Fera (Locust Valley, N.Y./Locust Valley) who brought his season total up to nine.

The Drew defense was in top form, holding the Devils to just four goals, matching the lowest by an opponent this season. The Rangers forced a total of 18 turnovers and made 15 saves in the net. Starter Charlie DeSocio (Maplewood, N.J./Columbia) made 13 of those saves, allowing only two goals in nearly 55 minutes of play.

The Rangers will close out the week on Friday afternoon when they host Susquehanna at 2:00 PM. Prior to game time, the squad's six seniors will be honored for their in pre-game ceremony.
