Crusaders Keep Rangers Winless in Landmark

SELINSGROVE, Pa. (January 21, 2012) – In their fourth conference dual meet of the season, the Rangers fell victim to Susquehana, 158-86 on the road. The Rangers posted eight season best times throughout the meet with three of them turning out to be lifetime bests.

Freshman Clayton Curran (Middletown, Conn./Middletown) and sophomore Thomas DiGuglielmo (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) were the only two Rangers with first place finishes on the afternoon. Curran swam a season best, 5:19.65 in the 500 freestyle while DiGuglielmo was the first to touch in the 200 breaststroke with his fastest time of the year, 2:28.43. DiGugielmo also turned in the second fastest 200 freestyle time by a Ranger this season with a 1:57.56.

The 200 freestyle relay comprised of Curran, Austin Goetjen (Simsbury, Conn./Avon Old Farms School), Matt Boudreau (Stockbridge, Mass./Monument Mountain Regional) and Michael Ng (Scarsdale, N.Y./Edgemont) turned in the fastest time of any Ranger combination this season with a time of 1:38.08.

Two of the three lifetime bests in the meet came in the 100 fly. Boudreau and Niklas Andersen (Mendham, N.J./Gill St. Benards) had the best races of their career with times of 1:08.74 and 1:11.33 respectively.

The Rangers will return home this weekend for a pair of meets in F.M. Kirby Pool. On Friday the Rangers welcome Mount St. Vincent before the Rangers celebrate Senior Day with a conference meet against Scranton at 1:00 p.m.
