MADISON, N.J. (February 6, 2012) – Drew Athletics is pleased to announce that the 2
nd annual NCAA Basketball
® Take a Kid to the Game Day will take place on Saturday, February 11. The Ranger basketball teams will host the University of Scranton in Landmark Conference doubleheader in Baldwin Gym. The women tip off at 2:00 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4:00 p.m.
Any adult accompanied by a child, age 12 and under, will receive half price admission into both games. All children are automatically admitted free. All kids will receive a t-shirt and a pom-pom and have opportunities to win other great prizes.
“Drew is excited about this event where kids from the community will have a chance to be a part of our game day experience and support NCAA basketball's Take A Kid to the GameÒ program,”
Jason Fein, athletic director at Drew said. “This game day experience is an opportunity for children to spend quality time with a parent or role model and learn about sportsmanship that can be demonstrated on the playing field.”
The Take a Kid to the Game celebration is an NCAA-sponsored event and will feature fun halftime games and prizes for the kids.
Drew University is hosting one of more than 700 games that will be played across the nation this season as part of the Take a Kid to the Game program. TAKG is a grassroots marketing campaign created by IMG College to encourage alumni and fans to take their kids out to local arenas to experience intercollegiate athletics.
