Ranger Top Presidents on Senior Day

Box Score MADISON, N.J. (April 27, 2013) – The Drew men's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2013 season with a 15-8 victory over Washington & Jefferson (4-10, 0-6 Landmark) this afternoon at Ranger Stadium. The Rangers finish with an overall record of 4-10 and a conference record of 2-4.

Senior Eric Tripp (Glen Cove, N.Y./Glen Cove) saved his best game for last as he scored a career-high six goals and recorded two assists in his final game for the blue and green. He finishes his senior campaign with career bests in goals (22), assists (18) and points (40). Fellow senior Scott Humphreys (Newark, Del./Sanford School) netted two goals and registered an assist to help lead the Ranger attack.

The Presidents were lead by a duo of three-goal scorers in Joseph Eck and Tim Angell. Eck scored on three of his nine shots and also dished off two assists.

The Ranger defense completely shut down Washington & Jefferson in the second half allowing only two goals. In the process, Drew tallied a season-high 11 second-half goals to help overcome the President's 6-4 lead at halftime.

W&J scored the game's first three goals but the Rangers came right back scoring the next three to tie the game up early in the second period. The Presidents closed out the first half by scoring three of the final four goals with two coming of the stick of Angell.

The second half was a completely different story, with the Rangers scoring nine unanswered goals in the between the third and fourth periods. Eck gave the Presidents their final lead of the day with 8:57 remaining in the third.

The Rangers scooped up a team-high 47 ground balls compared to just 21 by the Presidents. Senior Steve Gentile (Franklin Lakes, N.J./Indian Hills) tied a career-high with nine ground balls. Defenseman, Dominick Reda (Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) picked up a season-high seven ground balls.

Senior Brendan Skeehan (Clarksburg , N.J./Allentown) notched his first career goal late in the fourth quarter to give the Rangers a 14-7 lead. He also added an assist in the contest. Seniors Braden Demmerly (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) and Henry Warner (Chevy Chase, Md./Saint James School) also had a goal in the Ranger victory.

Andrew Goldberg (Randolph, N.J./Newark Academy) got the start in cage for the Rangers and made four saves. Junior Kyle Mariboe (Hightstown, N.J./Peddie School) played the second half and made eight save to earn his third win of the year.
