Box Score Scranton, Pa. (April 5, 2014) – The Drew men's lacrosse team (3-7, 1-3) dropped it's third conference contest of the season this afternoon, suffering a 14-2 loss at the hands of the Scranton Royals (8-4, 3-0).

Andrew Somps (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme) each scored one goal on the day for the Rangers in defeat.
The Royals jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first quarter when John Gregitis found Alec Mikrut for his 16th goal of the season. The Rangers responded tying the game just with 2:02 left in the quarter when Somps found the back of the net for his seventh goal of the season. Scranton added one more before the end of the quarter on a goal from Andrew Marone assisted by Chris Carfaro. The Royals opened up their largest lead of the half outscoring the Rangers, 6-0 in the second quarter to take an 8-1 lead into the half.
Scranton continued the scoring streak to nine unanswered when Gus Strom scored his second on the day just one minute in to the start of the half. Drew scored their only goal of the half when Marone beat his defender and turned the corner to find the back of the net for his 10th goal of the season. The Royals scored two more before the end of the third to take a 12-2 lead into the fourth quarter.
Senior goalkeeper
Kyle Mariboe (Hightstown, N.J./Peddie School) made his 10 appearances of the season in goal for the Rangers this afternoon. Mariboe made four saves and allowed five goals on the day for Drew in between the pipes.
The Rangers return to action on Tuesday April 8 at 7:00 p.m. as they travel to Poughkeepsie, N.Y. for a non-conference contest with Vassar.
