Sign up for the 2nd Annual Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse FestivalÂ
MADISON, N.J. (July 2, 2015) – One of the many benefits of organized athletics is the ability to bring people together in the wake of an unspeakable tragedy and kick-start the healing process through the shared love of a game.
Â
Drew University men's lacrosse junior captain
Rich Shahpazian is organizing the 2
nd Annual Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival in memory of Brendan Tevlin, a young man who tragically lost his life on June 25, 2014. Held on Saturday, Aug. 8 at Seton Hall Prep's Kelly Athletic Complex, the festival serves as both a fundraiser for the Brendan Patrick Tevlin Memorial Fund and an outlet for the community to honor and remember an amazing son, brother, friend and person.
Â
"The night before Brendan passed, he suggested we get a pick-up lacrosse game going," Shahpazian said. "Last year was not only a huge success in raising money, but more importantly it was a great day of fun in remembrance of such a special person who made a positive impact on every person he encountered."
Â
So far, 39 lacrosse players – including six Rangers – have signed up for the exhibition game, which begins at 11:00 a.m. at the Kelly Athletic Complex. The festival also includes a BBQ, raffles, and a fastest shot booth.
Â
The Brendan Tevlin Lacrosse Festival is open to everyone.
