GERMANTOWN, Md. –
Mal Vishwanath (Bangalore, India) of the Drew University women's swimming & diving team was named Landmark Conference Swimmer of the Year after winning her third gold medal and setting her third meet record of the Landmark Championships on Sunday.  She led the Rangers to fourth place in the team standings, as Drew collected 410 points over the three days of competition.  The Drew men's team also finished fourth after tallying 472 points.

Having already broken the championship record in the 200 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle, Vishwanath shattered the previous mark in the 1650 yard freestyle on Sunday.  Her time of 17:12.09 was nearly 12 seconds faster than the existing standard, and gave Vishwanath her sixth career Landmark title.  She later joined with Jenny Stein (Calabasas, Calif.), Jamie Riffel (New Providence, N.J.) and Katie Jefferson (Kamuela, Hawaii) to take second in the meet-ending 400 yard freestyle relay (3:35.55).

In addition to Vishwanath's Swimmer of the Year award, Stein was named the Women's Diver of the Year for the second straight season.  She finished first on the 1-meter and second on the 3-meter board, while also winning a bronze medal in the 50 yard freestyle.

After earning a pair of individual silver medals over the first two days of the meet, Stephanie Cushman (Brick, N.J.) won her first conference crown in the 200 yard backstroke.  Her time was 2:06.36.  Riffel joined Cushman in the 200 backstroke "A" final, ending up sixth in 2:13.24.  Jefferson, meanwhile, grabbed fourth in the 200 yard butterfly with a 2:15.27 clocking.

Drew also had three women qualify for "B" finals in their event.  Jennifer Cortez (Belleville, N.J.) placed 12th in the 200 backstroke (2:19.28), while Eve Morel (Bourgogne, France) was 14th in the 100 yard freestyle (56.38) and Kate Circus (Mount Laurel, N.J.) finished 14th in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:41.93).  In addition, Audrey Keleihor (Wilton, Conn.) (19:15.51) and Hailey Williams (Ocean City, Md.) (19:27.00) notched 13th- and 15th-place showings in the 1650 freestyle.

The Rangers went 2-5 in the men's 1650 freestyle, with Garrett Pilkington (West Milford, N.J.) earning the silver medal with a time of 16:43.70 and Mack Fox (Randolph, N.J.) securing fifth place in 17:03.99.  Jack Mahoney (Erie, Pa.) had an individual third-place showing in the 100 freestyle (46.82), and he also led off Drew's 400 freestyle relay squad that finished third in 3:11.53.  He was joined in the relay by Ryan Underwood (Etters, Pa.), Michael Ma (Redwood City, Calif.) and Matheus Macena (Sao Paulo, Brazil).

Underwood added a 10th-place showing in the 100 freestyle (49.31), while Alexandre Sannibale (South Pasadena, Calif.) made the "A" final in the 200 yard butterfly.  He ended up eighth overall in 2:01.07.  Jeremy Bradford (Seattle, Wash.) took 13th in the event with a time of 2:07.29, and Alex Longacre's (Perkiomenville, Pa.) 2:03.99 clocking in the 200 yard backstroke was good for 13th place.

This marked the second consecutive year in which the men's and women's squads both placed fourth at the Landmark Championships, which equals the best finish in program history.  Catholic's men and Susuqehanna's women claimed the Landmark team titles.
