TOWSON, Md. – The Rangers won 10 of 11 events and the Drew University men's swimming & diving team earned a 125-59 victory at Landmark Conference foe Goucher College on Saturday.
Competing for the first time since Dec. 1, the Rangers (4-3) were led by sophomores
Matheus Macena and
Alexandre Sannibale, who earned two individual wins each. Macena touched first in both the 50-freestyle (23.30) and 200-backstroke (2:10.35) while Sannibale prevailed in both the 100-freestyle (51.25) and 200-freestyle (1:50.45).
Four other Rangers also earned individual victories: freshman
Josh Roberts in the 1,000-freestyle (10:57.49), junior
Michael Ma in the 200-butterfly (2:04.66), junior
Jack Mahoney in the 500-freestyle (5:07.84), and freshman
Patrick Nowak in the 200-breaststroke (2:22.02).
Drew also swept the relays. Ma, Nowak, Macena, and Mahoney teamed up to win the 400-medley relay (3:44.53) while Mahoney, Roberts, junior
Garrett Pilkington, and sophomore
Alex Longacre captured the 400-freestyle relay (3:23.40).
The Rangers return to the pool next Saturday, when they take on Rampo College in a non-conference meet starting at 1 p.m.
