All-Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Team
TOWSON, Md. - Sophomore
David Burke of the Drew University men's lacrosse team has earned a spot on the All-Landmark Conference Team.
Burke was selected as the conference's lone first-team selection at long-stick midfielder. He becomes Drew's first, first-team all-conference selection since 2017.
Burke turned in a tremendous defensive season in which he posted 53 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers - a mark that ranked second on the team, second in the Landmark Conference, and second in school history.
Also a faceoff wing, Burke was a two-time selection to the USILA National Team of the Week. In one of his top performances of the season, he notched five ground balls and five caused turnovers in a 23-9 win over Rosemont. He also picked up 11 ground balls in the team's 17-9 season-opening win over Albright, and he registered eight GBs and three CTs in a 19-9 victory at Immaculata. In addition, he picked up eight ground balls in an 11-8 Landmark Conference win over Moravian.
Burke also contributed offensively, scoring five goals on the season, including two in the win over Immaculata and two in a 19-10 Landmark Conference triumph versus Juniata.
The Rangers finished the season 9-7 and 3-4 in Landmark Conference play, posting their best overall record since 2012 and their best conference mark since 2017.
