MADISON, N.J. - For the fifth time in the last six years, the Drew University men's basketball team will host a Landmark Conference Championship semifinal when it takes on Susquehanna University on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Baldwin Gym.
The Rangers (20-5, 13-5 LC) finished second in the conference standings to earn the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye. Susquehanna (16-10, 12-6 LC) finished one game behind Drew to capture the No. 3 seed and defeated No. 6 seed Goucher 85-59 on Tuesday in a first-round matchup.
The winner of the game will advance to Saturday's Landmark Conference championship game, which will be held at the highest remaining seed. Top-seeded and 18th-ranked Catholic will take on No. 4 seed Wilkes in the other semifinal. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championships.
Drew and Susquehanna split their season series, with the River Hawks winning 83-78 in the Palestra on Jan. 14 and the Rangers capturing a 94-82 decision in Baldwin Gym this past Saturday.
The Rangers are making their eighth appearance in the Landmark Conference Championship, with six of them coming over the last seven years. The Rangers captured the 2021 Landmark Conference title and also reached the final in 2019 and 2022.
