2024-25 Division III All-Met Team

NEW YORK – Senior guard Josh Kline has earned a spot on the All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division III Second Team.

It was the fourth postseason award for Kline, who last month was also named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-District Five First Team. In addition, he earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for his performance on the court and in the classroom.

Kline becomes the seventh Ranger in team history to capture All-Met honors, and Drew has now had at least one All-Met selection every year since the 2017-18 season.

The MBWA includes all Division I, II and III institutions in the New York Metropolitan area. First, Second and Third Teams were selected in each division for both men and women.

There are 36 colleges and universities and more than 500 players under the MBWA Division III men's umbrella. The 2024-25 All-Met teams will be honored at the 92nd MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on Thursday, April 24, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel and Conference Center in Tarrytown, N.Y. The Haggerty dinner is the longest running, media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.

Kline helped lead the Rangers (24-4) to a banner season this past year. The squad captured the Landmark Conference title with an 85-70 victory over Catholic University to earn the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship tournament. With the win, the team also broke the program record for victories as well as the Landmark Conference record for the longest winning streak (16 games). During the regular season, Drew went 18-0 in Landmark Conference play to become the first men's basketball team to post an undefeated regular season, made even more impressive considering it was only the second year since the conference expanded from eight to 10 teams and 14 to 18 conference games.

A starter in all 28 games, Kline led the team in scoring (14.6 ppg) and steals (2.2 spg) while finishing second in assists (3.5 apg) and third in rebounding (5.0 rpg). Among the Landmark Conference leaders, he ended the year second in steals, fifth in assists, ninth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.3), 10th in field-goal percentage (49.3%), 11th in scoring, and 12th in 3-pointers made per game (1.6).

In one of his top performances of the season, Kline posted 16 points and a career-high 12 assists for his first career double-double in Drew's victory over Susquehanna in the semifinals of the Landmark Conference Championship. He also recorded a career-high 26 points to go with nine rebounds in a win at Rowan, and he netted 20 points in a victory over Wilkes. In addition, he tied the school record for steals in a game with seven in a win at Elizabethtown.
