Andre De Los Reyes been named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II/III Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced on Tuesday.
De Los Reyes averaged 27.0 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Rangers. He shot 53.3% from the field, including 57.1% (8-for-14) from 3-point range, and 87.5% (14-for-16) at the foul line. In his top performance, he scored a career-high 34 points in a 98-87 Landmark Conference victory over Wilkes in which he shot 12-for-22 from the field - including 5-for-10 from beyond the arc - and 5-for-6 at the free-throw line. He scored 20 points and shot 4-for-5 from downtown in the first half, helping Drew race out to a 10-point lead.
De Los Reyes also posted 20 points and four assists in a 97-88 conference win over Susquehanna while shooting 3-for-4 from 3-point territory and 9-for-10 at the charity stripe.
For the season, De Los Reyes has averaged 16.8 points per game – a mark that ranks eighth in the Landmark Conference. He has connected on a team-leading 38 3-pointers and is second among the conference leaders in 3-pointers per game (2.5).
The MBWA media panel selects one men's and one women's player of the week and an honor roll from nominations received for Division I schools, plus one men's and one women's player of the week and an honor roll from nominations received for Division II and III schools combined. The Division II/III designation encompasses players from 45 Met area schools.
The Rangers (12-3, 6-2 LC) return to action on Wednesday, when they visit Moravian University in a Landmark Conference tilt starting at 7 p.m.
