Eli Yusavage has been selected as the Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week.
Yusavage averaged 24.5 points per game in a 2-0 week for the Rangers in which he shot 57.7% (15-for-26) from the field, including 50.0 (7-for-14) from 3-point range, and 80.0% (12-for-15) at the foul line. In his top performance, he poured in a career-high 30 points to lead Drew to a 92-84 victory at Susquehanna University, which clinched the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Conference Championships. He shot 9-for-17, including 5-for-11 from beyond the arc, and went 7-for-8 at the foul line including hitting 5-of-6 free throws in the final 31 seconds to help stave off a late Susquehanna rally. In addition, Yusavage posted 19 points and six rebounds in a 97-74 win over Moravian. He shot 6-for-9 from the field, including 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, and 5-for-7 at the line versus the Greyhounds.
For the season, Yusavage is the Rangers' leading scorer, averaging 16.7 points per game. He has made 2.5 3-pointers per game and shot 39.9% from 3-point range – marks that rank third among the Landmark Conference leaders. He is also second on the team in assists (2.4 apg) and third in steals (1.1 apg).
The Rangers (19-6, 13-5 LC) will open postseason play on Thursday, when they host a Landmark Conference Championship semifinal game at 7 p.m. They will take on the winner of the first-round game between No. 6-seeded Susquehanna and No. 3 seed University of Scranton.
