MADISON, N.J. (January 25, 2011) - The Rangers won their fifth-consecutive game this evening as they defeated Vaughn College 79-75 in Baldwin Gym. Senior Kyle Joyce (Hanover, Mass./Xavieran Brothers) and Luke Mullaney (Lebanon, N.J./North Hunterdon) both had season-highs with 17 points.

After a 22-point win a season ago, Vaughn (9-9) would not go down easy coming back from double-digit deficits on multiple occasions. After the two teams went back and forth for the first five minutes Drew (9-9) created some distance opening a nine-point lead midway through the first half. The Warriors would storm right back with a 8-0 run of their own, over the next two minutes of play.

The sophomore Mullaney would then help spark a 10-0 run getting the Ranger lead up to double digits for the remainder of the half. Mullaney finished the first 20 minutes of play leading the Rangers with nine points going 4-of-5 from the floor including a three ball that led the run off.

The Warriors would play a much tighter second half and were aided by Jerome Chan who hit a total of six threes including four in the final 20 minutes. Vaughn cut the lead to three in the closing minutes and hit four of the last five shots of the game to put themselves in line to tie the game. Dylan Bulger (Staten Island, N.Y./Staten Island Academy) hit a short jumper in with 2:48 on the clock to put the Rangers up five. The Warriors would respond with a jumper of their own and after a missed three by the Rangers, found themselves down three with 18 seconds to play. The sharp-shooting Chan would get a look with five seconds to from the corner but had the shot rim out.

Dara Mc Keon (Dunboynne, Ireland/St. Peter's College) iced the game for the Rangers hitting a free throw with two seconds remaining and put Drew at the .500 mark for the first time since the beginning of the season. Mc Keon was the other Ranger in double figures chipping in 11 points and five rebounds.

Joyce had his second best outing of the year finishing with a game-high 17. He was 5-of-10 from beyond the arc while also grabbing four rebounds.

Drew will look for revenge on Friday night against a Moravian squad that pinned a 63-57 setback back on January 9th. Tip-off at Baldwin Gym is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
