After trailing nearly the entire first half Drew closed the first frame out by scoring the last eight points to take a 34-28 lead into halftime. The Rangers picked up right where they left off in the first half by scoring the first eight points of the second half to take a commanding, 42-28 lead with 15:21 to play. The Raptors were held scoreless for a total of eight minutes and thirty seconds between the end of the first and the beginning of the second half.
The deficit proved to be to large for Bard to overcome especially the way the Rangers were shooting from the free throw line. The 86 percent shooting effort is the highest this season. Freshman
Mike Klinger (Franklin Park, N.J./Rutgers Prep), along with Glass, made 7-of-8 from the charity stripe. Klinger was the only other Drew player in double figures, adding 14 points on 3-of-5 shooting.
The Rangers will be back in action on Wednesday for the Battle of Madison Ave against cross-street rival, FDU. The game will be played at the Ferguson Rec Center as part of a men's and women's doubleheader beginning at 6:00 p.m. The FDU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be accepting non-perishable food donations and anyone who brings an item to donate will be admitted to the game for free
