NCAA Division III Regional Rankings
INDIANAPOLIS - The Drew University men's basketball team has earned a spot in the latest NCAA Division III regional rankings that were released on Tuesday.
The Rangers (15-8, 9-3 Landmark Conference) were slotted seventh among the nine teams that were ranked in Region 5. It is believed to be the third time in program history that Drew has received a regional ranking; the Rangers also made the cut in both the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
Drew also appeared in the NCAA's unranked regional rankings last week. Since then, the Rangers went 2-0, earning road wins over Scranton (79-69) and Juniata (75-67). The NCAA will also release regional rankings next week before it announces the field for the NCAA Division III tournament on Feb. 28.
The Rangers have earned three victories over regionally-ranked teams this season, including a win over Hood, ranked fifth in Region 5. In addition, Drew has defeated DeSales, ranked second in Region 4, and Rutgers-Newark, ranked fourth in Region 4.
The Blue and Green, who have clinched their fifth-straight Landmark Conference playoff berth, pick up their schedule on Wednesday, when they host Moravian in a Landmark Conference match-up starting at 7 p.m.
