When Danielle Baraty arrived in September 1989 from Paramus (New Jersey) High School, Drew gained an experienced athlete who made records in soccer, basketball, and softball, playing every game in her four collegiate years. Her outstanding performance made her Drew's first three-sport Most Valuable Player.
In soccer, Danielle led the Rangers in scoring for all four years. At the time of her induction, she held the record for most goals in one game (4), most goals in a season (21), most points in a game (9), and most points in a season (44), and ranked second in most goals and most points in a career. She was twice named to the MAC All-Star Team and was MAC East MVP in 1992, when she was also Offensive MVP at the Bryan Karl Festival Tournament. She made the CSANJ All-State Women's Second Team in 1989, and the New Jersey College Soccer Coaches Association All-Star Team in 1990. She was named the conference Player of the Week multiple times.
In basketball, Danielle was known as a playmaker as well as a scorer, and her ability to support her teammates was quickly recognized. Her average points per game rose steadily from 11.7 in 1989-90 to 14.8 in 1992-93. She was named to the ECAC Honor Roll in 1990 and twice in 1992; in 1991 she was part of the Skidmore Invitational All-Tourney Team. In 1992 she was named to the Stony Brook All-Tourney Team and the Jersey "9" Honor Roll. A complete player, Danielle's name is still all over the record book. At the time of her induction, she ranked third on Drew's career steals list (274), fourth in career points (1,146), fifth in career assists (277), sixth in career scoring average (13.0 ppg) and steals in a season (81), and 11th in points per season (325 in 1992-93).
Danielle's performance in softball drew upon years of baseball as well as softball in Paramus. Here again she excelled at Drew, batting .500 for two years. At the time of her induction, she was second on Drew's all-time batting average list, hitting .434, and was second in career stolen bases list (30). She was a 1992 MAC All-Star, an honor she received again as team captain the following year, and was a Jersey "9" Player of the Week in 1993.
