Two is a good number for Coach Mummert, Drew's first coach to achieve over 100 wins in two different sports. Tonight he joins his second Hall of Fame. Western Maryland College named him first; but then, they've known him longer.

Mummert earned honors in soccer, tennis, and lacrosse and was a soccer first-team All-MAC midfielder as an undergraduate at Western Maryland.  After receiving a B.S. in physical education in 1975, he remained to earn a second degree, the M.Ed. in administration.  He arrived at Drew in 1977 as assistant in physical education, joined the faculty the next year, and headed the women's basketball program from 1978 to 1980.  In 1980 he became assistant head men's soccer coach, after coaching the unbeaten junior varsity team the preceding year, and added men's tennis in 1981 to become a two-sport head coach.  On the resignation of Dick Szlasa as athletic director in 1990, Mummert served as interim co-director with Maureen Horan-Pease, and was named director in 1991.

Successful seasons abounded.  Mummert's women's basketball teams won two NJAIAW Division III championships.  By 1988, the tennis team had achieved 100 wins, and 1990 became the year of 100 wins in soccer with a successful game against Delaware Valley State.  In his 13 years as head tennis coach, Drew's record was 130 wins and 74 loses (.637), with a post-season record of 3-3; the team achieved league championships in 1987, 1988, and 1990, and division championship in 1988.  He relinquished his role as tennis coach on becoming athletic director, but remained head soccer coach through 1993.  Under Mummert, Drew's soccer record was 145 wins, 72 losses, and 33 ties (.668), with a post-season record of 11-11-1, five Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) playoff appearances, three MAC Northeast Championships, one MAC Northern Division Championship, six Eastern College Athletic Association (ECAC) tournament appearances, four ECAC Metro Championships, and two National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament appearances.  Mummert was named New Jersey College Soccer Coach of the Year in 1985 and New Jersey Nine Conference Soccer Coach of the Year in 1990.
