Ken started every soccer game in four winning seasons at Drew. Playing forward and later center halfback, he scored 11 goals and five assists in his first year, going on to score three goals and four assists as a sophomore.  In his junior year, 1972, Drew defeated King's College to become National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics District Champions and was also the Middle Atlantic Conference College Division North Champion; Ken racked up nine assists, plus one goal in the post-season.  As co-captain in his senior year, when Drew won the MAC Championship against Washington College, he achieved three goals and three assists, for a career total of 17 goals and 21 assists, and was named to the MAC first team.

Although Ken came to Drew as a soccer player, classmate K.C. Havens (Keith Camp Havens C'74) drew him into tennis. They were partners throughout their college careers. The Drew team's achievement varied during their four years, but Ken and K.C. were recognized as outstanding players.  Ken and K.C. were members of the 1971 MAC Championship Team, and both of them shone as the pair reached the MAC tournament semifinals in 1972 and 1973.  In 1972 they made Drew tennis history by becoming the first College athletes to compete at the NAIA National Tennis Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri.
