Meredith Doll's Drew achievements are a tribute to her love of sports and her attachment to her extended family.
A three-sport athlete in Chatham (New Jersey) High School, Meredith began college at the University of Vermont. But she quickly realized that transferring to Drew would allow her to play three sports again, and also to be closer to her grandparents, especially her grandfather, an Olympic athlete who thrived on watching her play. And play she did, with outstanding results.
Meredith was definitely a soccer star. A two-time team captain who tied the school record by scoring four goals against Stevens Tech in her first year, at the time of her induction she remained Drew's all-time leader in career goals (64) and points (143), and ranked fifth on Drew's career assists list with 15. She was a four-time all-conference selection. As a junior she was named to the NSCAA/Umbro All-Mid Atlantic Second Team, and was a first-team selection in her senior year.
In basketball, Meredith started nearly every game over four years and was named team captain in her final two seasons. A three-time Middle Atlantic Conference All-Academic selection, she set Drew's single-season steals record, which she still held at the time of her induction, in her first season. She was still second in career steals with 283. She graduated as Drew's assists leader and finished with a four-year total of 632 points, 323 rebounds, and 303 assists.
Meredith was also a two-year lacrosse captain. Here, too, she was a consistent starting player, and finished her career with 129 goals, 29 assists, 158 points, and 177 ground balls. A three-time all-conference selection and three-time MAC All-Academic selection, she was selected to the Brine/IWLCA D3 Regional All-American Team in both her junior and senior seasons and was a 1997 USWLA 2nd-Team All-American.
